Hello! My name is Leslie Ransom, and I'd like to share a glimpse of my heart, my journey, and why this mission means everything to me.
It all began 23 years ago when I started working with children with special needs at Baylor’s Our Children’s House. As a toddler teacher, I was given the joy and responsibility of shaping young lives in an environment that nurtured their unique needs. That experience ignited something deep within me—a lifelong commitment to provide love, safety, and support for children from all walks of life.
Years later, I embarked on multiple mission trips to Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize. It was there, in the eyes of children who had been neglected or abandoned, that I felt a divine calling. During one trip, I received a prophetic word from God—to open my home to children in need. And I listened.
I became a licensed foster parent in Texas, opening my heart and home to over 20 children over the span of 10 years.
I later joined Northwest Independent School District as a paraprofessional in the Special Education department, continuing to serve children in both my professional and personal life. Eventually, my journey led me to Treatment Foster Care (TFC)—a program designed for children who’ve been through multiple placements or psychiatric care. These are the ones society often overlooks. But I saw them. I loved them. I even adopted one. I continue to foster TFC youth to this day. But my heart longs to do even more.
Ransom’d Hearts is my next step—a movement born from a calling, a purpose, and a fire that refuses to be put out. Together, we can ransom the hearts of forgotten children and give them what every child deserves: love, dignity, and hope.
Not at this time. Ransom’d Hearts is currently in the process of filing for official 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. We will update all donors once our nonprofit status is finalized.
